The Combination operates as a collaborative collective—not as a sum of individual artists, but a living, evolving practice where creation happens through connection. Our work only exists because of the deep entanglement and trust we share as a group.
Research, creation, and decision-making are never isolated tasks. They emerge from ongoing dialogue, from the friction and flow of ideas between us. Our shared curiosity, and a willingness to challenge and inspire one another let Ideas emerge from conversations, evolve through collaboration, and take form because each of us brings something unique to the table. The project thrives on this connection—on the way our different perspectives, skills, and experiences weave together to create something none of us could achieve alone: One person’s question sparks another’s experiment; a half-formed thought becomes a shared exploration.
The Combination is a testament to the power of embodying collaborative, relational creation. This way of working queers traditional notions of production, embracing inefficiency as a deliberate interruption of capitalist logic. We reject the pressure to optimize, to streamline, to produce for productivity’s sake. We value the detours, the pauses, the messy, unpredictable process that allows something truly new to emerge.
